Week 23

Sunday, October 30.
Off.

Oh lazy days how I love thee.

Monday, October 31.
Off.

Didn't do much today, I believe laundry is as exciting as it got. And homework - but that's not exciting.
When Laura came home from work she didn't give Kristi and me a chance to fight and had us dress up for her Halloween party with friends from work.

Tuesday, November 1.
Asia (Anandapur) - 11:30-18:00

Wednesday, November 2.
Africa Restrooms - 08:30-18:30

Thursday, November 3.
Call-in-Sick. My hip wasn't functioning properly.

I'm getting worried about my hip, it works fine but something pulls that shouldn't be pulling. Sometimes it just feels tired, at other times it feels like I'm walking lop-sided and putting more pressure on that hip which then leads to sharp pain in my knee. So in other news I'll probably get that checked out when I go home.

Friday, November 4.
Africa (Dawa Bar) - 11:00-18:30

Saturday, November 5.
Asia (Caravan) - 12:30-19:00
Special Events - 19:00-1:00

Our special event ended at 12:20 and was insanely boring. We spent about two hours in the Dinoland shed chatting until the guests finally made their way to our area. There were only five of us (Becky, Jennifer, Nate, wazzu-Paul, and me). The fact that we just sat there just shows how great working convention with Coordinator-Don is. He just pulled up a chair outside the shed and smoked.

Week 22

Sunday, October 23.
Dinoland (Dinosaur) - 11:00-19:00

Monday, October 24.
Off. Outlets to try on dresses.

The dresses idea was a complete failure. The outlet offers select items from fancy stores, not everything. So there were very little dresses, and certainly no bridesmaid material.

Papy George past away. We will all miss him so much.

Tuesday, October 25.
Off. Florida mall to try on dresses.

Today was much better. I tried on a dozen dresses, was happy to see that I've gone down to a size 10 and that just made my day. Alexia received photos of a few dresses to show that strapless could work for me.
That night Aida picked me up to go to the Anandapur Haunt at the Animal Kingdom. We received candy, popcorn, a hot dog, and ice cream. Aida had a wonderful time dropping popcorn all over the place and stepping on it. The managers were the ones cleaning up after us. The queue line of the Kali River Rapids was decorated and was haunted so we all trooped down there and shrieked and laughed like children. A pretty successful day and evening overall.

Wednesday, October 26.
Africa Restroom - 8:30-18:30

Thursday, October 27.
Discovery Island - 12:00-18:30

Friday, October 28.
Africa - 14:30-20:00
Special Event - 20:00-23:00

Saturday, October 29.
Asia - 12:30-19:00
Special Event - 19:00-0:00

I gave my special event to Aida and it ended up being canceled. Oops.

Week 21

Sunday, October 16.
Puerto Rico.

Cristina was the one driving us around again. On Sunday we went over to El Yunque, the national rainforest in the northeast part of the island.

Monday, October 17.
Puerto Rico.

On Monday we drove back towards the west coast of the island to go and visit caves. We had a great time slipping, sliding, and running away from snakes.

Tuesday, October 18.
Puerto Rico.

For our last day we didn't do much. Cristina's mom took us to one last beach so we could admire the one closest to their house. We then spent the afternoon at the mall before going back off to the airport.

And I drank a coconut =D

Plaza las Americas. HUGE mall.

Wednesday, October 19.
Gave my shift away to Aida, I really did NOT want to work.

We were exhausted after running around for five days. I gave my shift away earlier that week and spent the day with Ricky once again. Laura also drove Cristina, Ricky, and me to Wal-Mart where we bought groceries to hopefully survive a few more weeks.

Tuesday, October 11.

Cristina leaves for Puerto Rico. (And we all want to follow).

Wednesday, October 12.
Africa Restrooms - 08:30-19:30 - Given to Aida. I now have the day off.

I wanted to spend the day with Ricky before leaving for Puerto Rico. We rented a car that morning and went to a Halloween store, Target, and Publix. And Typhoon Lagoon. Let's not forget the water park!

Leaving for Puerto Rico with Laura and Kristi.

Puerto Rico was absolutely beautiful. We were incredibly lucky to have Cristina's parents agree to have all of us stay for a few nights and feed us. And for that matter let us do laundry before coming back here.

On Thursday morning Ricky was kind enough to drive us over to the airport with the rental car. We made it through security quite fast and bought some breakfast to make it through the wait and flight.

Waiting at the airport.
Waiting in the plane.
When we landed in Puerto Rico and found Kristi's suitcase we met up with Cristina who was incredibly excited to have us there.
Right away we started our visit of Puerto Rico. Cristina had us try some beef and crab fried food and some Puerto Rican drinks.

This was actually fried fish. Delicious as well.
We then continued our trip to Old San Juan, one of the most important cities of Puerto Rico. There we went to El Morro, an old fort built to protect the coast from invasion

Right by the seaside.
We  bought a kite and had a wonderful time enjoying the sea, the wonderful weather, and the fact that we finally had a real vacation.
Puerto Rico reminded me of France in many ways, the small streets, the sea, the food. It was refreshing.

Friday, October 14.
Puerto Rico.

On Friday Cristina's parents put us all in the car and we drove straight through Puerto Rico from the east to west coast. We stopped a few times to see artisan crafts and the sights of the region. We ate a pig for lunch... the pictures may gross some folks out, but I loved every minute of my lunch.

This shop on the side of the road had tons of wonderful artifacts.

Piggy!!!

We went to the beach, you know, the Caribbean Sea, no big deal. I don't enjoy swimming much, but in warm blue water it's hard to say no.

That evening we went to see the glowing lights in the water there. Some areas have little microorganisms that emit light when the water is disturbed. So from a boat in the middle of the sea tourists can go and enjoy the light in the water. That night we stayed in a small hotel near the beach.

Saturday, October 15.
Puerto Rico.

That morning we were fortunate enough to try oysters and clams. And I have to say, they aren't as bad as I remember. Well I love clams, and they are absolutely delicious fresh. The oyster I tried didn't really taste like anything.

nom nom nom

We then went to a faro (lighthouse) up on a cliff. And had a gorgeous view of blue water and a never-ending horizon.

We then completed our journey by driving back up to the north of the island and then straight east.

Week 19

Sunday, October 2.
Discovery Island (Flametree) - 14:00-19:30

Very short shift with Parade Prelining making it all go by in a flash.

Monday, October 3.
OFF - Hollywood Studios with Ricky.

Ricky was done working at 15:15 so I made my way to Hollywood Studios to see the Pixar Parade and wait for him to shower and change. We then went around the park and met tons of characters and traded a few pins. We went to Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano for dinner where we finally managed to make a reservation. We usually show up but they are already full. It was worth the wait and the price, we had a wonderful waitress who kept us entertain by teasing Ricky all throughout dinner. Thank you Pat!

Tuesday, October 4.
OFF - Animal Kingdom with Ricky.

I managed to drag Ricky back to the Animal Kingdom, I did have to use guilt and a whole lot of black-mailing but the result was good. He decided the park was not all that bad when the weather cooperates a bit more.

We met Mickey and King Louie in Camp Minnie-Mickey and Flick in Discovery Island. We finally were able to go see It's Tough to be a Bug and rode the Safari again. The baby elephant was out and about and altogether was just adorable. I also managed to keep Ricky interested in staying and watching the Parade, which I absolutely adore. We then made our way to Dinoland and rode Everest on the way there, then Dinosaur to finish up our day. We then ran for our bus back home... caaaaaaar. I want a caaaaaaaaar.

Wednesday, October 5.
Africa Restrooms - 08:30-19:30

See how I'm working later? Yeah, the park is starting to close later. Woot.

Thursday, October 6.
Discovery Island (Flametree) - 13:00-19:30

Going down to the Character Landing where Guests can meet Pooh, Eeyore, and Tigger I had the chance of receiving a kiss and big fuzzy hug from Eeyore. Discovery Island is just winning my heart over!

I did have the frustrating experience of having all my cans triple bagged by Isabella and having her pull half of my can during my trash run. It took me a whole half hour instead of an hour and a half so I roamed my area after I was done, I need to learn to tell people to back off.

Friday, October 7.
Main Entrance (Medical) - 13:00-20:30

Crazy amounts of rain.

Saturday, October 8.
Dinoland (Boneyard) - 13:00-20:00

Six hours in the rain with a defective rain jacket. Oh the cold, cold wind.
