Week 15

It has been brought to my attention that writing/reading about sweeping and restrooms every day is definitely not the most interesting thing in the world. With the semester well underway I will be concentrating on my English 402 class and on creating the website that will be joined to this blog. The website I wanted to create originally was a resource for future College Program participants, I have not been able to visit Orlando/Florida as I wanted to, but I will now concentrate on my days off to show that there ARE things that can be done while stuck in Vista/Chattam/Patterson.

Sunday, September 04.

OFF. Magic Kingdom with Ricky.

Ricky and I started planning out what Michael and Alexia would be doing when here. Magic Kingdom is the park we don't know quite well, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios we work in so we know the ins and outs, Epcot is easy to navigate, other than the delicious food there isn't much more to do. So we made our way to the Magic Kingdom (on a special mission for Michael as well, to be continued in a later blog).

The park has already been transformed into Halloween/Fall themes, the colors have turned orange and Minnie is holding a pumpkin.

We bought an autograph book in the hope of taking photos with characters and getting their signatures to create a sort of scrapbook at the end of our stay here and have amazing memories, we started the process with two chance encounters:

Donald Duck!

The White Rabbit!

For the first time we were also there in time to see the Parade at 15:00.

Disney is extremely good at choreographs and costumes. We saw Pinnochio, Jafar, Donald, and tons of other characters.

Monday, September 05.

OFF. Outlets and Hollywood Studios with Ricky.

I heard about the Outlets a while ago but never knew exactly what they were. It turns out they are a shopping heaven for those who like that. An outside shopping mall that is ten minutes away from Vista Way, five minutes from the Commons. Yay! Ricky and I made our way there and were amazed at the number of stores, expensive yes, but soooo many.
We were there on Labor Day so all the sales were going on, and alongside that, all the tourists. I managed to buy a sweater from Banana Republic that was half off, so a total of 25 dollars. What a bargain! That's all we bought, we're not very good at spending our money on clothing, we just wanted to check the area out for future reference.

Later on that night we made our way to Hollywood Studios, rode a few rides

And went to watch Fantasmic. It really is a great show, the water works, fireworks, costumes, characters, etc. Fantastic... mmmmm.

Mickey controlling his dreams.

Belle and the Beast.

Snow White and Snow Prince (as I have heard him be named).

All the characters on a boat.
